"Che cosa le porto?" "Un Twinnlino sbagliato, per favore" - "What can I get you?" "A 'Twinnlino sbagliato', please"

For non-Italian speakers: the title is a pun on "Negroni sbagliato" (botched Negroni), which is a Negroni cocktail in which, instead of the customary gin, you put dry spumante. The cocktail was born in the 60s from a happy mistake made by a Milanese bartender.

Finally, after more than one month, I managed to scrape out a peaceful afternoon (not without my son's help) and make a second Twinnlino pendant the colours of which I liked even more than those I had chosen for the first. But alas, after sorting out the beads I realised that one rondelle was missing: there were 7 of them instead of 8. What could I do?

Since I'm not new to 7-pointed stars, I decided to try all the same and make adaptations while working, if needed. In fact, only one adaptation was necessary, that is, to add one 15° seed bead at both sides of each 4mm Swarovski in order to compensate for the wider angles between the points (see photo 2).

Then there is a personal adaptation which has nothing to do with the number of points. While making the first pendant, I had noticed that to use rondelles instead of 6mm Swarovskis in the first round meant that there was too much thread showing between the 11° seed beads in the first round and the 8° ones in the second. Therefore, for each point, in the second round I added one 11° before the first 8° and, symmetrically, another 11° after the second 8°. And that's were the real mistake is, albeit conscious: I had run out of 11° crystal silver lined beads, therefore on one point I was forced to use two 9° of the same colour instead of two 11°. And, since some fashion designers maintain that often to try to conceal one's defects means to highlight them even more, and so one might as well show them off, then the bail was attached to that "faulty" point (see ph. 3).
